OPENING: WNCW SPINDALE-ASHEVILLE, SENIOR PRODUCER/MORNING EDITION HOST (9/4/08)
WNCW Spindale-Asheville/Charlotte NC/Greenville/Spartanburg SC, a service of Isothermal Community College in Spindale, NC seeks Senior Producer for WNCW FM to oversee creation, production and presentation of WNCW news and information, in-studio and remote live music productions, and local/regional special projects (news, music and spoken word). The Senior Producer will serve as WNCW's Morning Edition host.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Associate’s Degree plus two years experience in radio broadcast production/on-air performance. Experience operating broadcast audio console. Familiarity with basic FCC rules and regulations pertaining to on-air performance. Demonstrated computer skills (PC). Experience writing/editing scripts for broadcast production or news.
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of two years experience in public radio; minimum two years journalism experience (print, broadcast or online). Experience as NPR Morning Edition host; experience operating computer-based broadcast audio automation system. Experience as radio news/documentary reporter/interviewer/producer. In-studio and/or live recording and live hosting experience. Experience with Cool Edit, Cool Edit Pro or Adobe Audition or similar editing/production software.

SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with education and direct experience

PROPOSED DATE OF EMPLOYMENT: October 2008

The Current Program Director is the individual responsible for the overall vision, direction, and management of the radio station, 89.3 The Current, and related programming. The Current is a new radio format established in 2004 to serve the Twin Cities metropolitan region with repeat service in Rochester, MN. This position serves as the creative director of the service, which broadcasts an eclectic mix of music that is distinctive in approach from MPR’s two other services, and that attracts new audiences to public radio. The Program Director is responsible for establishing and managing the overall sound of the service and for achieving annual and long-term public service goals.

RadioPangeaDetroit.com, a new major market, commercial Internet radio station, is seeking a Station Manager. The live-hosted, curated music format, can be described as "super-sized Triple A," or full-spectrum music variety. The ideal candidate will have a passion for and experience with creative, contemporary music from Jazz to all forms of Rock, Electronic, Soul, R&B, Blues, World, etc. While aiming for a global audience and playing music from a multitude of  worldwide artists, programming will also reflect the rich cultural traditions of Detroit, a city that is revered the world over, for its contributions to Jazz, Soul, R&B, Blues and Techno. We're interested in hearing from both commercial and non-commercial candidates. The Station Manager will provide leadership and oversight in the planning of station operations. They will develop and maintain the annual budget and manage sales, marketing/promotion/PR as well as  overseeing all engineering and web related activities. They must also manage all licensing, financial, legal and regulatory requirements.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university (preferred); Six to eight years related experience. Thorough knowledge of all aspects of radio and broadcasting industry. Excellent public relations skills.
